Whistler Residence in Canada, designed by Battersby Howat Architects.
Loungueville house in Sydney, designed by MCK Architects.
“This project explores the narrative of contrast between old and new. Traces of the heritage listed cottage including the front two rooms are retained and a contemporary sequence of spaces are built inside, around, underneath, adjacent to and beyond the existing elements.
The finished home is also an exploration in dismantling the notorious Sydney ‘white box’ and plays with negative space as primary space.” [mckarchitects.com]
